I was driving the back way home from Church one day and saw the following picture in my rear view mirror. I decided I needed to take it. I had the camera with me because I wanted to take a picture of the pond from the side of the road (see below).

Here's a picture of our pond from the living room window. That's a glare, not the sun.
Another picture of the pond from the side of the road.

Another picture standing in the driveway. I love it when the snow settles in the trees. It is especially pretty when ice forms on tree branches.

I don't ski, but I think I think building an igloo would be a lot of fun. After seeing those posts, I told my wife I wanted to move to Alaska. She thinks I'm nuts and I'm sure there's no chance I'll be able to talk her into it. Oh well.

Nice pics....I want to do scenic photography too. Will try to start carrying around our digital camera to take pics of scenery and whatever else that is interesting looking.
We need to get a digital SLR and maybe take a photography class or two at BOCES or TC3.
Yep, snow is pretty...until it's muddy slush.
Btw, your link to a new blog on the right side; "Adventures" maybe? With like, a "v" in there somewhere? Just sayin'.
P.S. If you guys are camera shopping, one of you should blog it with reviews. I'm in the "looking" stage to maybe get one for my mom for her birthday. She's just been using those disposable ones, which are ok for some purposes but I think she'd really enjoy being able to pick and choose what she wants to keep or print out. As it is, she's at the mercy of not seeing how the shot comes out until she finishes the roll and drops it off at WalMart.
Well... When she's been a mom long enough, there will likely be adentures. :p Thanks for pointing that out for me!
The camera we use now for our pictures is an Olympus Stylus 300. It's certainly rather old at a measly 3.2 mega pixels. I would like either the Nikon D40 or the entry level Canon. I'm not sure which model it is. If/when we do get one, I'm not sure our review would hold much water as neither of us are experienced with Digital SLRs.
Anything you get would certainly be much better than 35mm film. :)
Snow??? well I like snow now that I can stay home and cuddle up in a warm blanket drinking hot chocolate! but I hated snow when I had to drive in it to work everyday! Nice picutres!! It's a typical scene from November to May where we live huh??!!!! :)
It certainly is typical... At least, in other winters. I'm rather disappointed in the little bit of snow we've had this winter. I wish I had taken more pictures last winter.
Cuddling up with Mrs. Dorky Musician and watching a movie on those cold days are nice. :)
Aww...that was sweet. ;)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, may all your wishes come true!
